Selected Innovations

Six energy solutions, ready to help Ukraine — and the world.

From 75 applications worldwide, six groundbreaking projects were selected to proceed. Each solves a specific facet of energy resilience — at home, in the field, in agriculture, on water and in waste streams.

🇪🇸 Spain

XIZAN — My Solar Plant

Portable solar generator for self-consumption at home or on the go.

A modular system combining a power BOX (fuel generator, grid, portable & home modes) with solar MODULES — designed for resilient self-consumption anywhere.

Potential impact in Ukraine

Backup power for homes during blackouts, support for displaced communities and rural areas, and a lifeline for critical infrastructure and emergency response.

🇬🇷 Greece

BIO2CHP

Raw residual biomass turned into on-site heat & power.

Small-scale combined heat and power generation from residual biomass, enabling decentralized, on-site energy production.

Potential impact in Ukraine

Supports energy resilience in rural and agri-industrial regions where grid access is limited or fragile.

"The possibility to use the result of our work to provide value and actually help was the trigger to apply. We expect to unlock value, helping people through decentralized energy production."
Dr Stefanos Tsiakmakis, Co-Founder & CEO, BIO2CHP

🇮🇪 Ireland

GKinetic Energy

Modular turbines harnessing clean energy from free-flowing water.

Quick-deploy modular water turbines designed for natural rivers and man-made canals — predictable, reliable, locally controlled energy.

Potential impact in Ukraine

Reliable power for remote villages, industrial operations along waterways, smart city initiatives, irrigation and agricultural processes.

"We must do all we can to mobilize our local, clean energy resources — giving power and control back to local communities by helping them unlock their natural assets."
Vincent Mc Cormack, Founder & CEO, GKinetic Energy

🇮🇸 Iceland

IceWind

Robust micro vertical-axis wind turbines, tested in extremes.

Engineered in one of the windiest places on Earth — micro VAWTs paired with the SKIPP microgrid platform for resilient, distributed power.

Potential impact in Ukraine

Powers communication towers, weather and seismic stations, emergency systems, and helps restore energy to schools, hospitals and community centers.

"IceWind has donated wind turbines in the past, and with our new microgrid platform SKIPP we have the opportunity to provide even greater solutions for good."
Dr Stephen Drake, CEO, IceWind

🇯🇵 Japan / Luxembourg

AC Biode — Flexibuster®

Onsite methane generation + Plastalyst for waste-to-hydrogen.

Flexibuster® (with SEaB Energy) generates power from organic waste. From 365 t of waste / 183 households → 121 MWh electricity, 214 MWh heating & cooling, and 252 m³ recaptured water.

Potential impact in Ukraine

Deployable in urban centers to manage organic municipal waste and in agriculture to convert bio-waste into clean energy.

"Based in Japan and Luxembourg, AC Biode is keen to contribute to rebuilding Ukraine as soon as possible. The program significantly helps our cleantech startup tackle the rebuilding effectively."
